February 3rd: Heavy Snow Showers, New Forest

I wasn't sure whether to put these images in the 'winter weather' section, but decided they should go here as the focus is really on the good convection etc. After doing the rounds in the local villages, I headed up to Wilverly Plain, a few miles down the road, for a look at the covering of snow over this large lawn at the end of the day. I was greeted by quite a spectacular, and rare, sight, with dark cumulonimbus moving away over a brilliant white snowfield:

To the SE, another shower had developed, dropping more snow:

A new cell developed on the western edge as it moved away:
